2 Coments Each One 150 Words (CITATION AND REFERENCE)

Cultural awareness and sensitivity has become a necessary tool in nursing because; given the diversity in the growth of different populations, it has become imperative for nurses to understand various cultures and also respect the different practices in order to ensure holistic patient care at all levels of management. One among other tools that have been developed to help gather cultural information is the Heritage Assessment Tool. Through the outcomes of the survey from this tool, a nurse is able to gather relevant information about a patients culture, beliefs, needs and practices that may affect their care and treatment. While the tool is useful in structuring individualized patient care plans, it is also helpful in educating nurses adequately on new cultures thereby expanding their cultural competency foundation (Falkner, 2018). Some of the other tools used include; CCCC model, ACCESS model, The Process of Cultural Competence in the Delivery of Healthcare Services Model among others (Higginbottom, Richter & Mollel, 2011). Regardless of the tool being used the relevance remains in how the data would be used in the caring for patients.

Cultural competency is the act of being aware of different cultural practices that helps a nurse to adjust care plans appropriately and to constantly remain sensitive and respectful of the choices that patients make based on those practices. Cultural competency leans on cultural awareness through thorough assessment of patients and its relevance to patient care is emphasized on ensuring safety at all costs. The nurse therefore has the responsibility to understand that some cultural beliefs have health practices that are considered unsafe to other cultures that dont share in the same beliefs. For example, the [practice of female genital mutilation seen in middle east countries, Africa and southeast Asia is a practice where the female genitalia is partially or totally removed for non-medical purposes (WHO, 2018). Because of the many risks this practice poses on women healthy, the nurse caring for such clients must remain sensitive especially in their choice of words. Furthermore, child protection issues should be taken into account and advocacy for [patient safety should be considered if a minor is to undergo this procedure. Hence, understanding a clients cultural preferences if beneficial for effective patient care (Falkner, 2018). Even though various barriers to health exist among different cultures, nurses are to remain focused on enhancing quality patient care by ensuring safety.

Some of the ways cultural competency can be demonstrated is first, through comprehensive assessment. It is from such gained information that the nurse is able to understand family dynamics from which a customized care plan can be formulated to accommodate the needs. Secondly, while addressing emerging populations of immigrants, the nurse should be aware that most individuals lack knowledge to navigate the complex healthcare system and thus through collaboration with other interdisciplinary members, interpretive services should be provided to ensure effective management and smooth transition of care. Lastly, through cultural competency, nurses are able to identify vulnerable populations such as pregnant women, human fetuses, cognitively impaired et cetera, and by working with other interdisciplinary members, that helps to ensure provision of resources that would enhance adequate health care.

A nurse gathers cultural information from patients with care that is self- reflecting and an open mind. Itsimportant for the nurse to remain sensitive and respectful as the goal of the therapeutic relationship is to eliminate health disparities. A nurse must give high quality care regardless of ethnicity, social economic background, race or culture (ANA )

Cultural competence is an evolving process and is a daily process. Our communities are a mix of Asians, African Americans/ blacks, Hispanics, Arabs who all deserve respect and culturally sensitive care. To be Culturally competent, it requires continuous education, self-awareness, and evaluation in order to provide holistic, culturally competent nursing care (Campinha-Bacote, 2011).

Prior to this material review I was not aware such a framework existed for a cultural assessment. Leininger states that cultural assessment is the systematic appraisal or examination of individuals, groups, and communities as to their cultural beliefs, values and practices to determine explicit needs and intervention practices within the context of the people being served (Falkner, 2018). The Heritage Assessment tool is a great resource for helping the nurse determine cultural influences in managing cultural care focus in education. It surprised me that I was using it all along, mostly for my own exploration/ self-reflection. I am a very cultural curious nurse and learning about cultures helps navigate my care.

Culturally competent care has been linked to improved health outcomes and the elimination of health disparities. To demonstrate competency is to emerge yourself in it. Learn from them. Most importantly nurses must have an acknowledgement of culture as a core nursing trait of caring (Gillson & Cherian, 2019). I am culturallycompetent, and I ask these questions regularly:

Where you born?

Where did you grow up?

How old were you when you moved to the US?

Tell me how religion is important to you?

Tell me about the foods you eat?

How do you celebrate holidays, deaths?

This week’s lesson and graded assignment are opportunities for you to evaluate your own competencies in order to better understand nursing informatics and enhance your knowledge and skills. Competency assessment is an on-going process. You might be quick to assume that your competencies will always increase. Be mindful of barriers and challenges as you reflect on this topic. As you progress in this course, in the program, and beyond, how might you expect your competencies to evolve? Provide a brief response (100 words or less)

iterature review need to include content from at least 10 peer-reviewed articles (in English). You are welcome to add as many other sources as you like.
Please start out with a title of your research as well as a research question (you may also add sub-RQs to help answer the main RQ). The book gives very good advice on what a literature review should contain. The review does not have a specific scope in terms of pages or numbers of words. The important part is that you demonstrate that you can use the literature to define (and maybe discuss) your topic and core concepts – and can point to relevant previous research within your field.

Queue system for ticket purchasing (QueueingSimulation problem) in FreeMat

Create a simulation system for ticket purchasing for movie, football, concerts and etc. The
simulation system should be able to simulate the arrival of the customers and evaluate the results
of the simulation. Assume that there are different types of tickets for sales. Firstly, create and
display the tickets information table, the table of the service time, inter-arrival time, ticket slot/day
and ticket type, with an example given below(Picture1&2).

Before the simulation starts, set the counters that are in operation and counters that are not in
operation. During the simulation, more counters should be opened if there is a need (Set the
conditions for this). Besides, you can create a special counter that exclusively for member only
and so on. Assume that the customers queue up in a line and will proceed to any counter(s)
that are free to serve the customers. End the simulation when all the customers have arrived or
all the tickets are sold off.
For generation of random numbers for the service time, inter-arrival time and ticket type and etc,
you can consider linear congruential generators and other generators. User should be able to choose
the type of random number generator to be used before the simulation. Adjust the range of random
numbers so that they are within the appropriate range. Exhibit the message for the counter
operating status, arrival, departure of the customers and so on from time to time. For example:
Counter 1 and Counter 3 are in operation.
Arrival of first customer at minute 0 and 5 tickets were purchased.
Arrival of second customer at minute 2 and 2 tickets were purchased.
Departure of the first customer at minute 4.
Service for second customer started at minute 2.
Counter 2 started operation at minute 3.
Ticket type 1 is selling fast.

At the end of the simulation, display the results of the simulation such as the following:(Picture3&4)

At the end, evaluate the results of the simulation, such as (not limited to) average waiting time of
a customer, average inter-arrival time, average arrival time, average time spent, probability that a
customer has to wait in the queue, average service time for each counter and sales per counter.

Freedom of Speech

This is a philosophy paper. Please READ the attached reading materials before write the paper. Try not to quote anything from the internet. You must have at least 3 quotes from the reading materials. Read the instructors direction below. One more important point to me is to use simple vocabulary to write the paper (Im an international student. I need to understand every single part before I submit it).

Discusion; Human Error.

One of the key principles in human factors design is to prevent or minimize human error. Five types of error are introduced in the readings (Guastello). From these types of error, select the one you believe presents the greatest challenge to human factors specialists and engineers in the aviation/aerospace sectors and is the most resistant to remediation or minimization. Explain your rationale and provide at least one scholarly source to support your position. Submit your observation (using APA format where applicable) for this activity before the end of the module week.

Choose a nursing intervention (examples: IV saline flush versus Heparin; current trends in wound care; unrestricted visiting hours versus limited visiting in the ICU, etc.) related to your area of expertise or one that you would like to prove best evidence. Search a minimum of THREE sites from the below Sources of Evidence for guidelines and/or recommendations from the research for your chosen intervention.

1. Present your intervention and rationale for choosing

2. Who are the authors of the guidelines/recommendations (or articles if an article is included)? Specifically, were any nurses a part of the decision-making? How important is it to have nurses as part of evidence appraisal?

3. What type of evidence was considered when creating the guideline/protocol?

4. Summarize the quality of the evidence and strength of the recommendations.

5. How do these guidelines/recommendations compare to what you know and practice in your institution?

6. Provide a summary of support to continue with current practice or change practice related to the intervention.

Economics Article Analysis

It is important that you remain politically objective and consider the economic implications of the article in a measured and analytic way. The goal of these exercises is to apply the theoretical framework we will be learning to contemporary real world issues less important is whether you agree with a particular policy or not. Your analysis should include both written analysis and graphs to support your arguments. You should address the content of the news article in a clear and thorough manner. Legibility is a key part of communicating your ideas. Grading is out of five points possible and will focus on three main areas: 1) addressing the issues discussed in the article, 2) accurately using economic theory to analyze the issues, 3) clarity of communication.
